Guru Gobind Singh College, Sanghera has celebrated the 7th International Day of Yoga on 21 June 2021. It was held virtually because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The programme was organized by the Department of Physical education, NCC, NSS AND Buddy group of the college. In this programme, Mr Lovepreet Singh (Yoga Instructor) was the Resource person. First of all, Dr Sarbjit Singh Kular (Principal of college) extended a warm welcome to the guest speaker and the participants. After that, Dr Bhupinder Singh (NCC Officer) invited the Yoga Instructor to deliver the session. Subsequently, he started the session and traced its historical importance. He stated that Yoga is one of the oldest physical disciplines and it originated in India. It is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition which is around 5000 years old. Further, he mentioned that Yoga helps to maintain a balance between oneself and the environment. It helps us to deal with several problems and regular practice of yoga can rid of numerous health-related problems. Lastly, Dr Anil Kumar (NSS Officer) expressed gratitude to the guest speaker and the whole participants.
